🫐 A sunny Glimmer Valley story about sharing

Milo Learns to Share

Milo finds a whole berry bush, all for himself β€” until his friend Poppy comes along with an empty tummy, and Milo discovers that sharing makes the happy bigger.

The story

One sunny afternoon in Glimmer Valley, Milo the little dragon found a big leafy tree with a berry bush growing beside it. The bush was full of round blueberries, shining in the warm afternoon light.

"Blueberries! My very favorite," said Milo. "And so many β€” all for me!"

Milo scooped the berries into his arms and hugged them close. Just then, Poppy the little bunny came hopping over, with Glimmer the golden firefly glowing beside her.

"Oooh, those look so yummy, Milo," said Poppy. "My tummy is all rumbly."

Poppy's long ears drooped, and she looked down at her empty paws. Milo held his berries a little tighter… then he saw his friend's sad face.

"You have none," Milo said softly. "And I have so many."

Milo took a slow breath and thought about his friends. Then he smiled a big, warm smile and opened his arms.

"Let's share," he said. "Berries taste better together."

Milo gave a soft handful to Poppy, and set one tiny berry down for Glimmer to nibble. The three friends sat in the cool shade under the big leafy tree.

"Mmm. Thank you, Milo," said Poppy. "This is the best afternoon."

"Sharing makes the happy bigger," Glimmer said with a glow.

And it was true. Milo felt warm and glad, all the way down to his tail. The berries were sweet β€” but sharing them with his friends was even sweeter. So under the big leafy tree, the three friends giggled in the golden afternoon. Sharing is a little way of saying: I care about you.

πŸ’› What this story teaches

Sharing can feel hard at first β€” especially with something we love. But sharing turns one happy into many happies. When Milo shared his berries, the whole afternoon got sweeter for everyone. Sharing is a little way of saying, "I care about you."

🌸 Talk about it together

Ask your child: "What is something you love that you could share with a friend? How does it feel when someone shares with you?"

Try this: At snack time, let your child share one piece with someone. Notice it out loud: "You shared β€” look how happy that made your friend!"

🫐 A little activity: the sharing plate

Put a small snack on one plate. Take turns offering one piece to each other, saying "This one's for you." Sharing feels even warmer when we add a kind word with it.
